Quarter day $250 · Half day $400 · Full day $700 · Northern Rivers NSW
Flat pack furniture is designed to be shipped, not to be built. The instructions skip steps, the cam locks strip if they are over tightened, and a wardrobe that is out by two millimetres at the base will not close properly at the top. We build flat pack furniture across the Northern Rivers as a carpenter would: square, level, anchored and quiet.
IKEA, Freedom, Fantastic Furniture, Koala, Temple & Webster, Kmart, Officeworks. If it arrived in boxes, we can put it together. Beds, wardrobes, bookcases, bunk beds, desks, sideboards, kitchen islands, outdoor settings and office chairs are all everyday work for us.
Booked as a quarter, half or full day. Fixed price on the day, multiple items built in the one visit.

Detail
Most flat pack failures are not assembly mistakes, they are site problems. Old Northern Rivers cottages move. Floors slope, walls bow and stud spacing rarely matches the fixing holes moulded into the back panel. A carpenter reads that before the first screw goes in, packs the base, finds the studs and anchors properly.
Coastal humidity matters too. Particle board swells if it sits on damp slab or in a garage with the door open to salt air. We keep boxes off concrete, build in the room the furniture will live in, and pre drill anything that looks likely to split.
Bring us a room full of boxes and it usually costs less per item than a single build. Most jobs of three or four items land comfortably inside a half day.
Where we work
We cover Byron Bay, Ballina, Lennox Head, Bangalow, Alstonville and Lismore, within roughly a 50km radius of Byron Bay. Same fixed prices everywhere, no call out fee.
Common questions
Work is booked in blocks: a quarter day at $250, a half day at $400 or a full day at $700. A quarter day suits one or two pieces, and a half day usually covers three to four such as a bed, two bedsides and a bookcase.
Yes. IKEA wardrobes, PAX systems, BILLY shelving, MALM beds and kitchen units are routine work. We are happy to collect flat packs locally by arrangement, otherwise have them delivered and we build on site.
Always, where the manufacturer specifies it. Tall wardrobes, bookcases and chests of drawers are anchored into studs or masonry with the correct fixings, which matters in homes with young children.
We identify it early, tell you exactly which part number to order, and build everything else so only one step is left when the replacement arrives.
You get a fixed price on the day, before any work starts. The number we quote is the number you pay. No hourly meter, no surprises.
